RESPIRATOR MANAGEMENT AT BNFL

BNFL Magnox Generation uses our specialised RFID system within several of their UK power stations to manage the maintenance and issue of RPE (respiratory protection equipment) within the workplace. The system is both simple to use and ensures compliance with relevant RPE legislation. It also saves a significant amount of time in operation, stores accurate records and provides useful, up to date management reports.

INSPECTING FIRE PREVENTION EQUIPMENT WITHIN BRITISH ENERGY www.britishenergy.com

Keeping track of nearly 800 Fire Extinguishers on a nuclear power station used to be a time consuming paperwork process. Working with British Energy's Heysham 1 Power Station, we have developed a simple handheld computer system that provides a guided tour around the station's many Fire Points. The system uses barcodes to uniquely identify each extinguisher and its associated Fire Point. The system also handles the replacement of used Extinguishers and is able to manage the inspection scheduling for Hose Reels, Fire Doors and Fire Barriers.

British Telecom are managing the access and fire-stopping integrity of the holes within their buildings using simple barcode identity labels and a national web database system supplied by Initiative Business Systems Ltd.
